Get rid of white bar when watching full screen videos on macOS

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Visit a site that has a video player (Netflix, Youtube, etc)
  2. Click the “full screen” option
  3. The video player fills the all but a menubar-sized white strip at the top of the page - very annoying

Expected result:
The video player takes up the full screen

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.69.168 Chromium: 128.0.6613.138 (Official Build) (arm64)

Additional Information:

I’ve seen some reports that say this is standard behavior on all Chromium browsers - that is completely false, Chrome has never done this.

I’ve also seen the recommendation to enable the “#enable-immersive-fullscreen-toolbar” flag, but that completely breaks the sidebar in the UI after exiting full screen and requires me to restart the browser, so that’s not a viable option

I’ve also seen people that have recommended enabling the “Automatically hide and show the menubar in full screen” option under macOS system settings but that’s completely unrelated - the bar that’s showing belongs to the brave browser window, it’s not the macOS menubar
