I have noticed that on Android, you may set the default search engine for private as well as standard tabs. I was looking for the same feature on Brave on Windows, but I can’t seem to find it. Is this not available?

The search engine for a Private window will be the same as a normal window, i.e. what ever you have as default. So yes, there is no way to set them separately. However you can set to search with DuckDuckGo in a private window, while having a different normal window search engine.
So, this sounds like a good feature request. I’ll tag it as one.
Thanks so much for the clarification. I think porting this feature over from Brave Android to the desktop version would be really cool as well.
