Crazy CPU consumption, freezes and unrendered windows

Within the last week, I’ve been getting very weird behavior. It has become standard that having a single tab open will use 100% of a cpu. Occasionally, opening a page will cause the browser to become unresponsive for 10+ minutes (can’t close windows, etc.). And sometimes, the window will not render, but will just appear grey (no tabs, no title bar, no webpage, just a grey rectangle). This is all recent behavior and seemed to start at roughly the same time. Do you have suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this?

Thanks for reaching out – do you have the Grammarly extension installed in the browser at this time by chance?

I have the same issue and I do have Grammarly installed… is the recommendation to turn it off and/ or remove it?

Unfortunately, I’m stuck using Chrome until I figure this out since these issues make the browser unusable.

I did it and solve my problem. Is there an alternative to Grammarly ?

FYI, grammerly is working on a fix… So just make sure you know how to upgrade extensions… or uninstall the bad extension and reinstall it…
