brave eats processor when these two processes start; they run for a looooong time too.
The next time you submit an issue, you simply need to fill out the requested information in the editor so that we have what we need to assist you.
That said, off the top of my head, I would suggest you try disabling Hardware Acceleration
:
You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration
thanks for the reply. can you phrase this guidance relative to a Mac please?
jerb
@jerb,
Steps will be the same for macOS – the setting is in the browser:
- Launch Brave, then
Menu --> Settings
- On the left-hand side click
Advanced
- Then
System
- Toggle off
Hardware Acceleration
and make sure you relaunch the browser when prompted.
ah, Brave, not mac.
thanks!
@jerb,
You’re welcome – did this resolve the issue for you?
i’ll call it an improvement: renderer comes in at high cpu use and continues even after video is stopped, for about 6 seconds after stop. i can live with that; the system fan does not start up now, so less wasted electrons. Many thanks for the guidance!
