Can I Use uBlock Origin in Brave Browser?

I’m thinking about using uBlock Origin in my Brave browser. I want to block specific elements on websites, especially ones that distract me while I’m browsing. I know Brave has its own ad-blocking features, but I’m looking for something more customizable for specific elements. Has anyone used uBlock Origin with Brave? Does it work well for this kind of task, or should I stick to Brave’s built-in features? Would love to hear your thoughts or tips!

@Gaurav_212005 Brave has close parity with uBlock Origin, so I’m not sure what you’re saying it would do that Brave doesn’t. But that aside, yes, Brave still supports uBlock Origin. You may want to check out https://brave.com/blog/brave-shields-manifest-v3/

Using uBlock Origin in addition to Brave’s ‘shields’ is sort of like the Department of Redundancy Department - but that’s been my Brave setup since I started to use Brave - which was in mid-2016. I appreciate the granularity uBlock Origin offers blocking content, but more important - I can edit, save, export, and transfer filters and rules amongst different browsers with uBlock Origin installed and amongst different computers.

Also adding: if you install uBlock Origin in Brave, you should probably visit this Brave Settings page

brave://settings/extensions/v2

and toggle the Enable uBlock Origin™ switch to “on”.
