Browser not responding after windows 11 update 2/14/24

Browser not responding. Clicking on page falters, Typing stops, scrolling stops, going from tab to tab falters etc. Checked mouse, it passed, checked touch pad it passed troubleshooting also. bar on top of browser says, Brave is not responding and page freezes. This all happened after the latest windows update was installed. I then updated brave browser but it didn’t help.

Did you do that through Brave’s auto updater or did you do a manual update by downloading from https://brave.com/download ? If you didn’t do a manual download, please do that and install on top of your current version. If there’s anything corrupt or some issue, it should fix it.

[UPDATE] I upgraded to 22H3, and also installed a BIOS upgrade and other updates from Dell to bring my machine current. The issue persists and is exceedingly impactful - I have an i9 CPU with 64GB of memory and I’m waiting over a minute for the browser to unfreeze. I am having no issues with MSFT Edge.

Hi cougaire, thanks so much for responding. It helps to know It’s not just my computer. Before I could use Saoiray’s advice my browser started working more normally. I did notice today though, my typing sometimes still backspaces itself at times while I’m typing in a path. Very odd. I also have a Dell.

I’m not even seeing that as an option. Where did you get that? Actually, internet is showing like 22H3 doesn’t even exist. Is this a typo? Perhaps you meant 23H2?

I’m constantly checking for updates on my computer. Currently running:

And I’m set up to get all updates as soon as they become available.

When the machine of TS does not go to 23H2 (stays in 22H )it is possible the hardware is not compatible with 23H. I too do not think 22H3 to be a known version.

I have 23H2 as well. My browser was working again but, just 5 minutes ago started doing all the things it was doing in my original post. I’m stumped. Perhaps Brave is working on a new update that will fix these issues. Maybe I should just give it time. It started with my typing disappearing while typing in the paths. Now it’s freezing (Brave browser is not responding) off and on again with all the other glitches. I have a Dell with everything updated. It came with windows 11 professional.
Hope there is an answer that lasts soon.
I haven’t updated anything since my first post, so nothings changed on my machine. Strange.
