Brave browser randomly stops responding - Windows 11. March 2025

Description of the issue:
Brave browser randomly stops responding to mouse clicks and key presses. It does not freeze and turn white, nor does it show a loading icon for the cursor like browsers normally do when they stall/freeze.

If I hit ctrl-alt-delete and open the task manager it temporarily fixes the issue, however it will stop responding again some minutes later.

This is a fresh install of Windows 11 and of Brave.
Windows says version 24H2
Brave says version 1.75.181

I am running other applications at the same time Brave is running. These include Discord, Battle.net and World of Warcraft Classic.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I have no idea except for just using the browser regularly and to have it stop responding.

Expected result:
I’m hoping somebody can share a fix or figure out why the browser keeps doing this.

I don’t know why but this is happening more and more now recently. I checked to make sure everything was up to date - brave, windows and my graphics drivers and it still constantly stalls every few minutes on a click or a keypress, and then I have to hit ctrl-alt-del to temporarily fix it.
