Windows 10: 64 bit. Current version 0.68.132 Chromium: 76.0.3809.132
Going to About Brave shows “Checking for updates” for a long time then errors out with: " An error occurred while checking for updates: “Unable to connect to the Internet. If you use a firewall, please whitelist BraveUpdate.exe. (error code 7: 0x800421F8 – system level).”
Tried downloading The Dev, Nightly and Beta builds and they all hang on the Connecting to the Internet step. Tried the Standalone installer and it worked but said I already had a new version, which I don’t since I have 68 and was trying to install 69.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Open Brave and go to about or try and install a Beta build.
