Brave shield settings keep resetting

Description of the issue: When I change my shield settings (menu>settings>shields) and set it to Strict blocking, after I close the browser and then launch it, the settings are back to Standard again

How can this issue be reproduced?

1. change settigns to stirct ( fingerprinting and tracker blocking)
2. close browser
3. start browser and get the issue

Expected result: Well that the shields are actually set to strict ;D

Brave Version( check About Brave): Latest version (1.15.75)

Additional Information: My extensuions: decentraleyes, Bitwarden, uBlock Origin.

Very interesting issue.

I attempted to recreate using Brave Nightly and Brave Dev on Linux and Brave Release on Windows 10, with no success (the settings persist).

When you installed Brave, did you choose the option, “Run as Administrator” to run the installation executable? (Thinking out-loud … this is usually related to a permissions issue, at the file level).

@Simpele Did you have “Site and shield settings” option enabled for "Clear on exit” under brave://settings/clearBrowserData?

If yes, then try disable it. With that option enabled, Brave will clear the selected option everytime you quit Brave.
