Brave Rewards bug on Linux / Wayland

OS: Fedora 34
Brave version: Version 1.22.71 Chromium: 89.0.4389.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hello, I am a big fan of Brave and hope for the overall success of making Brave Rewards as versatile as possible for users. Especially technical users who switch devices a lot.
Because of this I am hopeful for any plans that will forgo the use of uphold or remove the 4 device limit.

I mention this because I am a technical user who uses several devices, my primary being a Linux machine and appreciate Brave putting in the effort to ensure Linux is treated equally to mainstream platforms such as Macos/Windows.

The Issue

Given that I am using Fedora 34, I am given the defaults of Gnome Shell on Wayland.
I use Brave rewards on this machine and have notifications enabled via gnome-settings.

However I noticed I never see Brave ads on this machine. I see them frequently on MacOS and on Android which aligns with the 5 ads / hr in brave://rewards.
As I started to investigate I noticed that I have rewards history on my device despite not seeing advertisements.
I have determined that I am effectively earning BAT without the A, and while this is nice, it is dishonest so I hope that this bug can be fixed soon.

Reproducing

  1. Install Fedora 34
  2. Install Brave using the directions on Brave’s site
  3. Enable BAT rewards
  4. Use Brave

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help resolve this bug.
