Brave Rewards Bug. Can't Verify Site Is Using Https?

Trying to verify my site via the file option. But it keeps saying “Uh oh! Your domain is NOT using HTTPS. You will need to fix that before continuing”.
My site only allows HTTPS so not sure why Brave can’t seeing that.

Any help possible?

Are you sure you put the file in the correct folder? https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018210951-How-do-I-verify-my-website-or-domain-with-Brave-Payments-Video-Tutorial-

Or you can try other method – DNS record – instead. https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021408352-How-do-I-verify-my-channel-

I can’t even download the file to add into my website files. Because Brave thinks my site does not have HTTPS so it locks me out from downloading the verification file.

Plus on this website host I can’t add txt entry’s to my DNS.

Thanks for the information @Tux4000.

@cory or @albert, could you take a look please?

hi. I have the same problem. can’t get past the “uh oh. your site doesn’t use https” message. my website is redirecting all traffic to the https protocol. so I am not sure what exactly is the issue. my website is https://betterwebdesigns.com

I just noticed that after this error
“Uh oh! Your domain is NOT using HTTPS. You will need to fix that before continuing”

There is a 2nd part of the error saying
“The following error was encountered: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=error: certificate verify failed (unable to get local issuer certificate)”

So it’s definitely a bug that is causing Brave not to be able to read the https certificates correctly or at all. Hopefully it should be a relative easy fix

Taking a look into this right now

any updates on this issue?

Can you attempt DNS verification instead? You can do it from the Creators verification wizard.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the DNS verification and now it seems that my website is verified.
