I have not encountered bugs like the image from SoundCloud after turning off HWA. The video provided does however still happen very frequently after HWA is turned off.
Interesting that disabling HWA only fixed some of the issues. Wondering if it’s maybe being caused by extensions you have installed.
Would you mind testing using a new profile? Make sure your original profile is closed so that you only have one Brave window open, using the new profile. Go to Youtube and any other site where you were seeing this issue and test to see if you get the same behavior.
I made a new profile, closed Brave completely, opened Brave with the new profile and went to the YouTube front page. After scrolling down a couple viewports and back up, Shorts are still glitching out.
I have also tried enabling Vulkan as well as choosing OpenGL as the ANGLE graphics backend in Brave flags - but also to no avail.
I will just add to this that Hardware Acceleration seems to be creating the issues with half white YouTube pages and glitchy Soundcloud pages. Disabling it makes Globe View on Google Maps unavailable, so I enabled it again and got a screenshot of the error.
I would like to further add to this that changing the ANGLE graphics backend to D3D11 seems to have fixed most of the issues - while still having Hardware Acceleration on. The default setting as well as the D3D11on12 may sometimes even crash the graphics card completely, to the point that it gets disabled and reenabled in Windows 11 Pro.
EDIT:
I’ve now tried turning off G-Sync completely, as it might have been causing all of the issues. I will report back if I see any more glitches/errors.
