Brave rejects it's own .onion address in private window

In either Version 1.36.109 or Version 1.36.111

  1. Open a private window with Tor
  2. Go to https://brave4u7jddbv7cyviptqjc7jusxh72uik7zt6adtckl5f4nwy2v72qd.onion/
  3. Get blocked with the message

brave4u7jddbv7cyviptqjc7jusxh72uik7zt6adtckl5f4nwy2v72qd.onion is blocked

This page has been blocked by Brave

This is repeatable with https://search.brave4u7jddbv7cyviptqjc7jusxh72uik7zt6adtckl5f4nwy2v72qd.onion/ also and probably many others.

Now I was using this happily recently, possibly pre- Version 1.36.109 but I am unsure, where valid .onion addresses were browsable from private windows with Tor.

My questions:

How do I disable Brave blocking these valid websites ?

How do I disable Brave from automatically up-breaking it’s browser ?

Why break browsing to your own advertised .onion address ?
