Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Insert a URL in a new tab or click on a link using “open in new tab”
  2. Result is: Brave keeps asking me to prove I am a human being and I am sent to the CAPTCHA alternative

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result: Screen defaults to the indicated URL or new tab shows indicated URL

Reproduces how often: every time

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu): Windows (up to date), Brave Version -
Version 1.57.53 Chromium: 116.0.5845.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information: Using Proton VPN

Disable the VPN. Sites will add aditional checks for VPN users due to bot detection (I have 4 different VPN providers, all see the same thing)

I’ll take that back. Rather than put up with the annoyance, I’m switching back to Firefox.
