Brave got stuck trying to load a webpage, now just a black window. Closing and re-opening goes to same black window

Since it only opens that black window I cannot tell what version, etc, but I think it is the current version in Windows 7 as of today June 21. Need to know how to reset it.

I have to use Task Manager Processes window to kill it because closing the window does not stop the browser. Then re-start goes back to same black window.

Finally, after several hours I again killed Brave from the Task Manager Processes window and then I could re-start Brave by clicking on the icon to see that it failed to reload the previous pages an it was again responding to normal activity.

I still think there should be some way other than waiting for hours…

My version of Brave just updated to 0.63.48. I’ve noticed that the sub-pages (Preferences, About Brave. etc.) are now in dark mode if that is the desired setting. This is great, however, the bar at the top in a very vibrant pink which is rather distracting. Moreover, the shade is not consistent --it varies from the left to the right of the page. Why was the bar not made orange to be consistent with Brave’s colours? Thanks.
