Brave freezes completely following Windows update (Version 22H2 OS Build 22593.1)

Description of the issue:
I was using the Brave browser with no issues yesterday. I believe my Windows updated last night and today when I open the Brave browser, it freezes almost immediately. I cannot click anywhere within the browser window and the only way to close the browser is through the Task Manager.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open Brave browser using Windows 11 Version 22H2 OS Build 22593.1
  2. Browser freezes
  3. Close browser by using Task Manager

Expected result:
Browser does not freeze and I am able to use Brave again.
Reproduces how often:
Every time I open the browser.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
I can’t see the Brave version as it freezes instantly upon opening. See above (title and opening) for my OS version.

In the command, use three flags:


If Brave Browser starts AND continues to run, then disable Hardware Acceleration in the Settings.

Then, Exit/Quit Brave Browser . . . wait . . . and try a normal start.
