Brave for desktop been flagged for modification

Hi,

I have been using Brave for a while on desktop and recently my antivirus flag brave.exe.

The reason for the warning is that brave.exe is self updating / modifying the exe on each time it is executed. I have confirm the modification and grant access to the internet but once restarted the same problem happens again. Is it really required to modify the main exe each time it starts?

I can dig up a bit and clear this warning in my av but i’m just posting here to let know the issue.

Can you please tell me what AV software you’re using when you see this and whether or not it’s happened for apps other than Brave?

A endpoint solution from Symantec and yes this warning appear on other apps like Mcafee. This most likely happen because before loading the core it checks for updates.
