Brave Browser Not Loading Most Crypto Decentralized Applications (dapps)

I’ve been using Brave for several years now and i’ts easily become my favorite browser. I’ve also been an extremely heavy on-chain crypto user for the past 3 years (50,000+ transactions) and Brave has never failed me before…

However, suddenly as of about a week ago Brave only loads about 25% of the decentralized applications (dapps) that I need to visit and connect my web3 wallets to. It loads “regular” webpages just fine. This has significantly slowed down my workflow as some open on my desktop, some open on my laptop (which also uses Brave and faces the same issues but has a slightly higher success rate at about 33%) and some dapps I have to used on my phone. Even when circulating between all 3 i’m still only at about a 50% hit rate whereas before I was at 100% on my desktop alone. Certainly frustrating.

Over the past 7 days i’ve restarted my computer countless times, applied all computer updates, hard closed Brave via task manager and background processes, ensured my Brave browser is on the latest version, turned off shields, turned off ad blocking, cleared cache and cookies and all history in advanced settings, turned off gpu rendering, and nothing worked.

The only thing I haven’t yet tried is deleting and re-installing Brave, but i’m afraid that i’ll lose all of my windows and tabs (i’m one of those people with 15 windows each with 20+ tabs and manually adding those back will be a huge pain and is why that’s a big deal for me).

Any insight into how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thank you! :slight_smile:

**Expected result: Being able to load 100% of any decentralized application (dapp) that I visit which I was able to do for years up until about 7 days ago.

Always Be Prepared

The initial Brave Browser Profile (aka Profile 1), created during the installation of Brave Browser, is within the Default folder:

C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default\

Notice the BraveSoftware folder? Please make routine backups of that folder.

Yes, my default wallet is set to extensions (no fallback) I have at least a half dozen extensions I use and I don’t use the Brave wallet so i’ve chosen that option to “turn it off”

^Just wanted to follow-up to the point I made above, is there anything else I’d need to do or change the default wallet?

Hey guys, just wanted to follow-up and see if anyone else had any ideas I could try? Still facing the same issues and this is getting really frustrating and limiting towards my web3 experience.

@Maximus1314 just hoping you can confirm:

  1. You have updated since you posted, should be on 1.175.80

  2. The issue is happening with an extension (if can share which, might be helpful)

  3. Can you give links or examples of some of the dapps you’re having issues with?

  4. Could you share pictures, videos, or at least a detailed description of what’s happening?

  5. Have you tried disabling other extensions? Like if you have 5 extensions, try disabling all but the one you’re using for the dapp to see if there’s improvement. Kind of seeing if it might be any particular extension interfering.

  6. If you create a new browser profile, does the same issue happen there?

@Mattches @Evan123 this topic has been on for a while. Not sure if you have anything to add on potential solutions or questions.
