Just got the update but it didn’t fix the issue, it created the new exe and updated the shortcut but its still crashing with brave.exe as the name
I’ve now got an issue with netflix and the M7121-1331 error, i’m just gonna leave brave as i have got too many issues with it

@YodaForce157 You do seem to be having some strange issues. I do wish the problems were easy to identify and easy to fix! I think the vast majority of windows users are not experiencing your issues (me included), which indicates it is probably something unique to your system settings and/or set-up.
Troubleshooting problems is always a pain and extremely frustrating if the problem is not easy to identify. If you want to continue troubleshooting, it probably would help if you outlined the things you have tried and results even if nothing changed. Maybe one of the troubleshooting suggestions which could provide insight into your issue was overlooked? From your posts, I really can’t say definitively what you’ve tested and the results. If you do want to continue troubleshooting, just organizing the actions already taken and posting the information may bring some clarity.
You could just continue to rename the .exe and maybe a future release will fix whatever is causing the crashes (which reminds me… did you check brave://crashes for any crash reports?). Not ideal, but you could still continue to use Brave.
Support is your best bet for this one. Only suggestions I have are to check to see if the following setting are enabled:
brave://settings/extensions ->check if widevine is enabled
brave://settings/content/protectedContent → check if sites can use protected content and sites can use identifiers are enabled

I tried all of the troubleshooting steps in this thread, i have also tried those and netflix still wont work, But thanks again for all the help!
I’m just gonna reset my pc again, this time i will take note of everything i do in order, so that i know where it went wrong if its still broken
Ok so i reset my pc using an external usb with the install media on it for windows 11 and i just set up win11, checked for updates, installed brave. Still. How? Why? What? What do the computer gods have against me? Could this be a hardware issue? I deleted all c drive partitions during install so no files should be left over
@YodaForce157 Just to confirm did you install Win11 by removing all the files or do you still have your previous applications? And does renaming “brave.exe” still work?
Also, do you have a crash file here- brave://crashes/? Can you “Send” it from there > check “developer details” > and paste the Upload ID here?

Yes, I did remove everything and renaming the file works, I think I know what’s wrong and will get onto it later, and no I don’t get any crash files

Fixed it, i tried multiple things at once but think it was some microsoft account setting as i used microsoft login account instead of a local and it works with a local with brave.exe as the name
