Brave 1.71.123 "Portable" - Error Code 1: 0X80004005

Hello,

I’m using the Version Brave 1.71.123 “Portable” from 2024/11/10 on Win11 PRO 23H2 from this site: https://portapps.io/app/brave-portable/

Everything is working except the auto-update function.
As soon as I’m opening the update site by the help-menu it’s showing “Error Code 1: 0X80004005”

Microsoft is just declaring the error as “undefined” - what could mean a lot.
I couldn’t solve that problem although I tried everything and searched in the forum. Does someone have an idea about that?

OK, I got it. The update function has been disabled in the portable version. That’s why the error message 0X80004005 appears. I had missed this note. Thanks so much for the information @289wk
