Bing forced as a search engine

Description of the issue:
When I do a search on Brave, my research is forced with Microsoft Bing search engine instead of my default search engine, which is Google. This is very annoying. In my settings, I deleted the Bing search engine and Google is the only one left. But Brave still uses Microsoft Bing as my search engine… I’ve been using Brave for the last couple of months and never got this problem.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave Broswer.
  2. Use default settings and set Google as your default search engine.
  3. Do a research in the top search bar.

Expected result:
You should see your search results shown by Microsoft Bing instead of Google.

My expected result is to be able to have Google as my default search engine like before so I don’t have to switch to Firefox.

Have you tried disabling your extensions? Maybe one of your extension caused this.
