Using brave browser and setting Google as default browser doesn’t work as intended, it still uses Microsoft Bing as default search engine.
Just type www.google.com in url bar and it loads google.com and search something, redirects me to (https://www.bing.com//) search no matter what.
Based on the screenshot, there seems to be a misconfiguration. There are duplicate entries for Google. Also the shortcuts are duplicated. This will eventually trigger some conflicts.
Coming to the question. What is the URL of the default entry? It can be seen when clicking the “pencil” icon. That may be the problem.
