Automatic switching to new tab

why don’t we have the option that when we click on a link Brave opens it in a new tab and automatically switches to it?? Developers don’t have that knowledge to incorporate it?? Isn’t that hard to do…

When I click on a URL link on a webpage, a new tab is created and Brave automagically makes that tab current (switches to it) and the URL is rendered.

click and click also work as expected.
(EDIT: behavior on openSuse Tumbleweed)

Or maybe I don’t understand what you’re asking (since I’m a developer : / )

“Or maybe I don’t understand what you’re asking (since I’m a developer” - not surprised…when a link is clicked a new tab is created but Brave does not automatically switch to it…unless you do CTRL-SHIFT and then click on the link…

It works for me.

Single left click on URL link on webpage, new tab is created, then Brave automatically changes to that new tab and webpage is rendered. I do not use … only left mouse single click.

You never specified your environment or Brave version. And example webpage with specified link.

“You never specified your environment or Brave version.” - what difference does it make…

Your request is neither a new nor unusual. Here are some (not all) older threads citing the same issue:

Comments from other users (and replies from Brave) suggest this behavior is inherited from Brave’s switch from Muon to Chromium.

No kidding…I knew that already…just trying to get the Brave developers off their butts and already implement this feature that exists in other browsers…
