It’s not only that ads aren’t blocked, but it’s not even allowing the skip ad option anymore either. Shield up or down, I don’t get a Skip Ad button. Seems very similar to this thread.
I tested this in Firefox as well, and that seems to still be working fine so seems like something with Brave for sure.
if Brave doesn’t block youtube ads anymore then you should install add blocker.
here is awesome add blocker “Addblock plus”. it works also with Brave browser.
I’m not sure does it block Brave rewards ads, but I don’t care about Brave rewards anyway…
Hola, soy Maxi, vengo a esta comunidad, debido a que presento el mismo problema en mi navegador ultima version, no esta bloqueando las publicidades de youtube, porque?
Hi, I’m Maxi, I come to this community, because I have the same problem in my latest version browser, it is not blocking YouTube ads, why?
Any solution?
I also have started seeing the insipid (can’t say S t u. p i d as it is blocked) ads on YouTube. I am trying some of the extensions for Chrome to see if they help.

So far the results are pretty good. They seem to help but I can’t say that I never get the ads every time.
Adblock Plus does currently block YouTube ads. I’d rather use Brave’s native blocker and not have to use a 3rd party blocker, but I’m marking this as a solution, if only a band-aid one.
The best way to get rid of advertisements on YouTube is to subscribe to YouTube. That way, you are not leaving it to the advertising business model to fund it, which will inevitably result in it continually going downhill until it’s completely worthless.
Yes, for 2 days now, I’m seeing Youtube ads on the desktop Brave version.
Also, I’m seeing people here recommending to add an ad-blocking extension to Brave. But, guys, wasn’t the whole point of using Brave was to have an adblocker built-in while having control to what ads you decide to see and get a cut/share from Brave for looking at those ads? Come on…
