Description of the issue:
When I switch to watching YouTube videos in full screen mode, the video gets consistently choppy. It’s especially bad when in 1080p 60fps mode. Lowering the resolution doesn’t resolve the problem. Even if the resolution is lowered to 360p 30fps, full screen video is still choppy. If I switch the YouTube screen mode to the default view, the issue goes away.
In contrast, playing YouTube through Microsoft Edge works flawlessly regardless of screen size mode or resolution. When I played the same video on full screen 1080p 60fps mode using Microsoft Edge, it played smooth with zero issues.
This issue started recently because I used to be able to play 1080p 60fps YouTube videos on Brave without a problem.
Below are some other things I have tried to resolve this problem with no improvement:
- Clearing cache and cookies
- Turning off hardware acceleration
Other Information:
- Lenovo Ideapad S340-15IIL
- Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 22H2 (x64)
- Intel Iris Plus integrated GPU
- No indication of a resource shortage in task manager; average 70% CPU and 15% GPU usuage
