Please read my entire post as it will answer many of your questions.

Problem: Youtube only buffers for 1 minute and than keeps buffering for some time. After some time it automatically shows error Something went wrong. Refresh or try again later. Learn more.

Technical Specifications:

  1. OS: Ubuntu 24.04 64 bit (x86_64)

  2. Browser Version About Brave : Version 1.73.104 Chromium: 131.0.6778.204 (Official Build) (64-bit). I am using Stable version of Brave.

  3. Brave shield status: On

  4. Brave shield settings:

  5. Aggressively block trackers & ads

  6. Upgrade connections to HTTPS

  7. Aggressively block fingerprinting

  8. Block all cookies

  9. Content filter settings:

  • Other than Brave Experimental Adblock Rules all checkbox are ticked.
  1. Setting Use graphics acceleration when available
  • Tried with Both On and Off, but it doesn’t work.
  1. Memory saver status: On
  • Maximum (Tried Moderate, Balanced as well as turning it off)

  1. Forget me when I close the site status: Off

  2. Console errors:

  3. VM1113:1614 Uncaught (in promise) SecurityError: Failed to read the 'localStorage' property from 'Window': Access is denied for this document.

  4. identifier:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()

  5. Some questions:

  6. Did you try changing shields blocking modes like from aggressive to standard and allowing cookies ? - Yes, tried all permutations and combinations of the shield ad block settings, but it doesn’t work.

  7. *Does it work with Shield status off ? * - Yes

  8. *Do you Have any brave flags changed ? * - Yes, but flags were same when it was working and same when it stopped working, probably it doesn’t have anything to do with flags in brave://flags.
