Hey, so, Youtube updated their videos to better detect adblockers, and got pissy when it detected ours. Thing is, when I turn it off, it’s still being detected as being on. Is there some kind of setting in there that I’m missing?
I’m using Version 1.73.105 Chromium: 131.0.6778.265 (Official Build) (64-bit) of Brave and Win 11.
Can you please go to brave://components
and share what the version number for the Brave Ad Block Updater
component is?
Here’s a screenshot for a bunch of them that might be related.
Why is shields disabled in the screenshot? Try clearing brave://settings/clearBrowserData and ensure shields is enabled also.
If shields are enabled, Youtube goes into an infinite loading loop. Clearing the cache does nothing.
@kateywumpus did you clear your browsers cache or did you clear youtube site data? If not, that is what I would do.
- Visit Youtube
- Click the “tune” icon on the left side of the address bar
- Then
Site settings —> Delete data
Refresh the page, turn Shields on and test to see if youtube works normally.
Gave that a try, and still a no-go.
