Youtube isnt working, it will only load up to 20 seconds only, I have rebooted my computer and so on, It works on my other devices but with brave it doesnt seem to work at all.
Can you clarify a bit on the behavior youâre seeing? Are you saying that youâre able to stream content on youtube for 20 seconds and then it freezes? Or is does something else happen after 20s?
Yes facing the same for past 2 days. Basically video loads upto like 15-20 seconds and then it stops.Tired turning shield on/off and i dont even have Ublock.
Happened after updating to this versionv1.75.181 (Feb 26, 2025)
Have you tried clearing cache/site data for Youtube yet? If not, Iâd try this first to se if thereâs some âbad dataâ stuck in the cache causing the issue. To do this quickly:
@MagicRegan can you please go to Menu --> More tools --> Add profile and create a fresh browser profile, close your original profile window, then visit youtube and see if you get the same issue in the new profile?
I disabled the extension. I already had that extension.
Have you downloaded any extension like enhancer for youtube or anyting of that sort??
Disable it and check if the issue persists.
@HamB thank you for confirming. Asking if disabling extensions made any difference was going to be my very next suggestion. Good work resolving the issue.
@MagicRegan can you please try disabling your extensions and tell me if one of them may have been causing the conflict?
Iâm at a bit of a loss as to what would be causing this for you at this point. One more test we can perform to prove that the issue on your end is with Brave browser in general would be to try downloading the Beta build of the browser and test Youtube content there.
Note that downloading/installing/running the Beta will not overwrite anything with your current stable Brave installation. It will install and run as a separate browser and once youâre done testing, youâre welcome to uninstall the Beta build.
@MagicRegan while thatâs nice to hear, it isnât exactly a solution to the issue. It simply means that there is something contained within your Brave stable installation that is causing the issue.
Do you still want to troubleshoot and resolve the issue in your stable install?
