I’ve been dealing with this issue for a few weeks now…I’ve cleared cookies/cache, updated components, created a new profile, etc, and nothing seems to block ads on YouTube. Is it just not possible anymore?
@Dan33185 you say updated components, did you get any errors when trying to update them all?
No errors, everything updated fine that needed to.
@Dan33185 sorry for the delay getting back to you. So to confirm:
-
All components update if you try and do not return any errors.
-
You do indeed have Shields enabled and have checked all the site specific Shields settings via the Shields lion icon thing to see if changing those matters.
-
You have tried in a private window and/or a new browser profile but the issue still occurs?
-
Do you have any extensions installed?
-
What specific OS and version of Brave are you using? (such as Windows 11 and Brave 1.23.456)
-
Could you try installing Brave Beta or Brave Nightly if you don’t have it and see if it works?
-
Lastly…this is only YouTube having issues or is it on other sites?
- All components update fine, no errors
- I have Shields enabled (I’ve tried both agressive and standard)
- I’ve tried an incognito window as well as created a new profile, the problem persists
- I have many extensions installed, but I’ve disabled them all and tried again with no luck, so I don’t think it’s an extension conflict.
- OS: Windows 10 Home (22H2), Brave version: [Brave 1.80.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)
- I will try the Beta version, nightly I’ve had problems with, just too unstable.
- I haven’t noticed any other sites having persistent issues like YouTube
EDIT- Beta version is having the same issue.
