This morning, when I tried to open YouTube, I received a warning message stating that “YouTube doesn’t allow ad blockers.” Since then, I haven’t been able to play any YouTube videos without disabling Brave’s Shields.
Steps I’ve Already Tried:
Updated the Ad-blocker component and filters — no improvement.
Temporarily allowed ads and trackers specifically for YouTube — still no effect.
Ultimately had to completely turn off Brave Shields to get videos to play.
This issue started suddenly and wasn’t happening before. Is anyone else facing this, or does anyone know a fix?
Also, I have cleared cache and cookies, cleared site data; use Private Browsing; and changed my VPN connection (disconnect; pause; reconnect); and generally keep trying, and finally YouTube works.
I just created my Brave communitty account to ask about this, i know this happens but im not sure if i need to update Brave or its auto once they respond back ( and idk how to Brave shield this Brave shield that i just use this browser cuz i love it but never tryed configurate only theme )
Two fixes. Youtube works fine in a Brave private window, but not when logged into a Youtube account. So I downloaded Brave Nightly version of Brave and youtube works fine - it stopped the youtube “terms of service violated screen”, blocked the ads and went back to normal, even when logged into my youtube account.
Edit: As some other members have already said, brave nightly does not face this issue.
Edit 2: This issue is account based, you can change accounts or clear cookies and login again. Worked for me. Probably also why changing browsers worked.
I have been on nightly for forever, nightly does NOT work for me. This just started happening to me today, was watching youtube just fine last night too. I think it could also be account based, switched to a secondary account and yt works just fine.
Pon trackers and ads blocking en standard, y activa block fingerprinting. Después, ve a content filtering y verifica si easylist cookie, fanboy’s mobile notification, y brave experimental adblock rules están activadas.
