Why does brave need to install windows services?

I noticed a couple of windows services that brave installed. What do they do and why doesn’t other chrome based browsers install any services?

I assume you’re referring to the “update” services?

Probably. I don’t have it installed right now and couldn’t find any info. I’m not saying it anything sinister, I was just wondering why the install a windows service, when other chromium based browsers don’t…

You can certainly disable them if you like (though you don’t have it installed now) … then manually run the update at your convenience.

In addition to the two services, there are two tasks, found in the Task Manager

Services (BTW - the Description entry tells you what the service is for : ) )

Good point. I just prefer that everything is closed when I close an app. Don’t see why they need to be running all the time.
