Why are news source, who I have choosen to remove from my home webpage not being removed?

I have tried multiple times to remove, and even re-remove news sites from my brave home page. I have tried both click on hide articles from “X” site, Top right hand corner option; to going into the “custom” area to also unfollow or remove from homepage. But I still get articles from these news outlets. How can this be permantly resolved. Thank you
