Description of the issue:
OFTEN (but not always) when I get an email with a URL inside and I click the URL, Brave closes and opens again. When it does so, it tells me that Brave is not my default browser (but it is) and it asks me if I want to restore my tabs.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Click a URL from within an email.
When I click the URL, I expect a tab to open in Brave and the URL to be opened in that tab. I don’t care if the tab is brought to the front or not. In other words, I don’t care if I have to click on Brave to see the URL tab but it seems like it should open automatically…and it might if Brave didn’t close.

This does not ALWAYS happen but DOES more often than it does NOT.
I’m using Ubuntu 18.04 and Thunderbird 68.9.0 (64-bit).
