Hi @Abc7-yxz

Thank you for reaching us and sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Brave. Please try to open a new page using private mode or guest mode.

You can open a Guest Window by going to Main menu --> Open Guest window

If that works, it could be related to an extension interfering with your profile, please try removing your extensions to see if it works properly. To Remove an Extension:

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. At the top right, click Menu icon --> More tools --> Extensions.
  3. On to the extension you want to remove, click Remove.
  4. Confirm by clicking Remove.

Or

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. On your extensions toolbar, right-click the extension you would like to remove.
  3. Select Remove from Brave… from the context menu.

Let me know if that works and have a nice day!

Yes it crashed in private window & new private window I checked my extensions & have 2 secure extensions with VPN Bitdefender I will try your suggestion as " Guest window "

Does it crash still with those extensions disabled?

I think it’s wise to not disable my VPN or Bidefender Security I’ve had these 2 extensions for many years

This has actually been reported as causing problems by some Users in recent months.

For example:

Daily Browser Crashes where they said:

Then Unable to sign in to google accounts (clear cookie error) - #31 by MoodyCthulhu

Of course, Express VPN also been a problem.

Just because you’ve used something for years doesn’t mean they haven’t had a bad update or that between extension and browser, there isn’t a conflict.

the VPN is replaced every year with their new upgrade version therefore it is not the same something I used for years I stopped using google for search engine 2 yrs ago I tried duckduckgo for awhile then read it’s connected with google so I use Brave & never had an issue with opening websites ( kijiji ) until the past month

Disabling extensions is a suggestion to test, we’re not saying “Permanently disable VPN or Bidefender Security extenions”. Just as a test, disable them to see if it works or not. From there you can work out if its an extension issue or not. The re-enable the extensions if need be.

If its related to the extension, then reach out to the extension authors for a fix or update.

@Abc7-yxz I also want to point out that just had 2 other people share that Bitdefender is causing problems for them. In their case it’s just primarily on Facebook.

This suggests there’s definitely a conflict with them and Brave. So I’d test it for yourself and then maybe get in contact with Bitdefender so they can try to make modifications to their extension so it works better with Brave.
