Unable to Import Chrome Bookmarks & Settings

Description of the issue: Having an issue when attempting to import bookmarks and settings from Chrome. I receive the same error messages others have reported - “To finish importing, close all Chrome windows”. I’ve checked System Monitor, All Processes and no Chrome processes are running. Chrome is not in the Startup applications either. I’ve restarted the machine as well, to no avail.

Steps to Reproduce: Settings -> Import bookmarks and settings -> Chrome First User is pre-selected -> All checkbox options are pre-selected -> Click Import

Actual Result: “To finish importing, close all Chrome windows”

Expected result: Import all bookmarks and settings.

Reproduces how often: Every time.

Operating System and Brave Version

  • Brave 1.0
  • Linux Mint 19.1
  • Chrome Version 78.0.3904.97 (Official Build) (64-bit

Additional Information:
