Trying to move a tab to a new window locks brave and pointer events until a key is pressed

Brave version: Version 1.31.88 Chromium: 95.0.4638.69 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Windows 10

When moving a tab to a new window, Brave will lock up and not allow me to click anything until I press any key. Upon doing so, the tab will snap back into the window I was attempting to move it from.

This is not usual behavior. This is the first time I have experienced it, and I assume restarting Brave will fix the issue.

Apparently, I have experienced this issue before, around the same time last year too. Weird.

And just as last time, restarting Brave actually did not fix the issue for the time being. I did notice, however, that Brave didn’t properly shut down when I tried to close it. I had to kill it with Task Manager.

@sampson Since you asked for this last time:

Do you think your issue is the same as this one? Bug - merging a tab from one brave window to another causes all instances to crash

Yes and no. Brave doesn’t crash for me, but that does certainly sound like similar behavior.

However, it has magically fixed itself once again. I didn’t change anything. The only thing I did differently was opening a new window separately, without using a new tab. Maybe that resolved the issue.
