Description of the issue:
All instances of brave are crashing if we attempt to move a single windoed tab to another brave window arleady containing a tab
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):
Lauch Brave
create two new tabs
take one of the tab and pull it as another Brave window
attempt to merge the independent tab to the first brave window Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
All brave browser instances crashes
The chrome_crash_pad process is also killed
Expected Result:
The tab should be collated alongside the target window tabs
Brave should not crash
I’m having the same issue. When I make a new tab and try to drag it to a another window or make it into a new window it freezes Brave. Then when I hit something on my keyboard it unfreezes but the tab goes back to where it was. I am using Windows 10 so it clearly isn’t just an OS issue as OP is using macOS.
Brave version: Version 1.31.88 Chromium: 95.0.4638.69 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 20 Pro - Version 20H1 - Build 19043.1288
The issue seemed to fix itself after about an hour. No idea what I did that fixed it if anything, just randomly seemed to start working again
Having the same issue. I often use Brave windows side by side, and if I drag tab from one window to the other, I get a red screen and Brave crashes. It does not appear to happen when using Chrome (Brave being chromium based, thought this bit would be useful).
Using Brave: Version 1.30.89 Chromium: 94.0.4606.81 (Official Build) (x86_64)
OS: MacOS 11.6 on 27" 2017 iMac. Happens on my MacBook Air too.
Update:
Saw I was on an older version of Brave browser. Updated, and it appears to be working right now… I’ll report back if I can reproduce it.
Now on Version 1.32.106 Chromium: 96.0.4664.45 (Official Build) (x86_64)
