Description of the issue: I recently installed Brave browser on my Windows computer, and while testing out its functions compared to other operating systems I used to I ran into a common issue of automatic page translation from foreign languages into my default language not working. At first I thought this was because blocking all cookies was interfering with Brave’s ability to translate my chosen page from Japanese to English because after changing it from All to Only cross-site it worked, but then after I closed and reopened Brave I wasn’t able to get translate to work again (not to be that person, but I’m surprised that an issue this old and this common still hasn’t been fixed yet)
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Open a page in a foreign language
- Automatic translate doesn’t work even though the toolbar icon shows my default language being selected in the translate tray
- Clicking on my chosen language to translate the page into doesn’t work either
Expected result: For any pages to be automatically translated as seamlessly as on Chrome (if this problem were to be fixed, then this would be the perfect browser for me and I would have no problem switching over to it as my default browser across all of my devices)
