"This site can’t be reached" - but works via Tor?

I have two user accounts on my M2 MBP, on one Brave works wonderfully, on the other I’m unable to access the internet and receive:

This site can’t be reached

www.amazon.com’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.

Both the Mac OS and Brave browser are on the most current versions. On the same wifi network, and have toggled it on/off, to no avail. The Mac user account in question is connected though as Safari works, as well as Messages…

I removed all extensions, emptied the trash and restarted, multiple times. Oh, I also cleared cache and cookies…

I receive the same when I open a private window, HOWEVER, it works when I open a private window with Tor!

Any ideas?

Thanks much,

Tony

EDIT / ADD: I even removed the VPN, to make sure that was not problematic. That said, I have the same VPN on the other Mac account where Brave connects to the internet…

Also, there is no antivirus software.

Please, if I somehow placed this question in the wrong section, kindly let me know. Glad to create a new post in the appropriate area…

I’ll add that Safari (using now) and Chrome work well with the Mac user account in question. I’ve been using Brave for years though and really want it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

SOLVED: It had to do with a custom setting under “Use secure DNS.” For now I just went to the standard OS option… Working again!

It should work fine, does it work in private window mode? test with/without a vpn.

Also test other amazon regionals amazon.de amazon.com.au amazon.ca amazon.co.uk do they work?
