Description of the issue:
Sync error using Brave on Linux 20.04lts desktop. Details below.
Steps to Reproduce
Click “Settings”. This opens “brave://sync” screen.
- Click the white “I have a Sync Code” button.
Enter sync code. - Click orange “Confirm Sync Code” button upon entering 24 word seed
Actual Result
After Step 3, an error message:
“Couldn’t contact Sync servers
You might be having network trouble, or there could be a problem with the Sync servers.”
Click “OK”, then go i can see my words again, and I get no further trying to press ‘OK’ again or starting from step 1 again
Expected result:
No error message. Complete steps 1-5, then connect to the sync server and synchronize bookmarks between devices i.s. successful syncing- as happens with the 24 words on other computers both identical and a laptop running Apple OSX
Reproduces how often:
Every time, on one of my HP xw8600 x64 computers 1 of 3 only
Brave Version(about:brave):
Version 1.10.97 Chromium: 83.0.4103.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Yes. That’s what I’m using as above
Additional information
I uninstalled and reinstalled Brave. Same result.
I am successfully syncing on other PC and laptop, and using same server to connect the internet
