@SirAser@Usah so far I’ve not had any issues with YouTube. As to how they are tracking, that’s going to be the intriguing part. I’m assuming it’s primarily through people’s accounts. For example, are you logged into Google or YouTube?
If not that, would think it’s cookies.
If not that, it could be IP address but seems hard to believe. As you said, otherwise using VPN or proxy could possibly bypass issue.
Overall though, I think it’s just accounts. Not sure if you logging out matters? If you’ve tested on new profile? If changing browser matters? Eventually we all figure it out and get past it all
While it doesn’t mention ads or adblock, it does mention we are not allowed to:
circumvent, disable, fraudulently engage with, or otherwise interfere with any part of the Service (or attempt to do any of these things), including security-related features or features that (a) prevent or restrict the copying or other use of Content or (b) limit the use of the Service or Content;
Whether you want to say blocking ads are circumventing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with a part of the Service…it certainly is preventing them from adding their choice of content that we’re skipping.
But you would think they’d have something that would spell out ads and adblocking. I’m just guessing it’s one of those areas where things get muddy. It might be interesting to see what would happen if something went to court on it. I suppose it would go to the idea that we can’t be forced to view ads and they either would have to lock content behind premium services & accounts or just “deal with it.”
The reason you’re getting the “Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube” message is because Youtube is trying to prevent you from using ad blockers on Youtube. Why would you expect that using a different browser, upgrading your browser, reinstalling your browser, or using a VPN would prevent you from receiving this message? This isn’t a bug or an error. It’s clearly an intentional change that Youtube has made.
does anyone know how to get rid of this pop up using the adblocker i am using-Adblock-the best adblocker(thats the whole name). and my one is google chrome
I don’t know if Adblock has this capability, but in Adblock Plus, you can block specific elements on a page. When you get the pop-up, click on the extension, select “block element” from the menu, and then click on the pop-up. Seems to be working for me so far.
But I’ve also never seen the pop-up in Brave Beta, for whatever reason.
Ok guys hear me out. YT is trying hard to make money from each single registered google user on YT, so it is pushing all registered google account users to stop using adblock. Very simple solution for now: log out of your google account to watch a video. Problem solved
I think everyone knows why it’s happening. It’s just a question of what can be done about it. Brave has always been a reliable resource when it comes to dealing with ads, pop-ups, privacy issues, and so on. I’d prefer not to have to use YT logged out because I have a lot of playlists and the algorithm tends to serve up relevant content. But obviously, we’ll all do what we have to in order to circumvent the problem. Speaking for myself, I’ll certainly exhaust all my options before I have to pay a monthly tribute to a privacy-invading multibillion-dollar corporation.
No need to do it. I’ve been logged in and using with no issues. Absolutely no ads, no warnings, etc. But it may also be content. Like I don’t watch the YouTube TV stuff that says “free with ads.” I know when I tested earlier, I was able to watch without seeing ads but I’m assuming they’d kind of be more aware of that and have a higher chance of getting at people for those things.
It’s just as with all things in life, it’s a constant battle on technology. There’s a lot of money at stake, so places like Google/YouTube are trying to figure out the best approach. And yeah, if people get hit by the notices or see issue, then means be smart and break from it. Can try to clear cookies, update things, etc. Can kind of figure out what it is that they are picking up on.
It needs to stop, Ads are invasive. I’d rather not get an advert during a video I was watching.
I don’t care how big YouTube is, People have the right to choose if they want to see ads or not.
YouTube been getting blocked for me on CCleaner Browser the past 2 weeks so I stated to watch them on Brave, started to get blocked this week so yesterday I tried logging onto YouTube on PaleMoon with adblocker installed, and YouTube refused my login, says my account is suspended last night. I thought they did it for “hate speech” again…
So I created new account and porting over my subscriptions.
Clearing cache and cookies seems to work on fully avoiding the “please disable adblock” warning that prevents you from youtube at all, but the downside is you have to login into everything again.
Though, over time i’ve been needing to do it more and more often.
I rather avoid logging out if i can, purely because i hate the default light mode. which can only be turned off if logged in.
Hey everyone, I have had the same problems with the pop up and I tried almost every solution here and it has worked. However, Youtube has started to block me from saving, sharing or sending videos. Is anyone else having these issues? If so, how do I fix it?
hi i thought since youtube and google are the same company i signed out off google went back on youtube with my ad blocker on and works no problem they just don’t no it is me watching now
Currently running 1.58.137 and getting blocked from watching any videos on YouTube. As soon as I disable the adblocker it works fine. Is there a newer version of Brave?
