Stuck looking for device (Brave sync)

Description of the issue:
I’ve followed the very simple instructions for setting up Brave sync from Computer 1 to Computer 2 (a laptop and a desktop). I typed the whole chain code from computer 1 into the correct space in computer 2, hit Confirm Sync Code, and now nothing is happening. Computer 1 is just endlessly spinning with “Looking for device” while Computer 2 is just doing nothing, no matter how many times I click “Confirm Sync Code”. I have verified that I copied the code correctly. This has been stuck like this for 10 minutes.

Hello! Maybe try to reinstall Brave browser on both computers and see if that fixes the problem.

I have this problem too. I created a sync chain with a PC and two Androids. Cannot add my laptop running Version 0.70.123 Chromium: 78.0.3904.97 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Does anyone know what mechanism is used to link these systems? Presumably a Brave server somewhere?

Better question: does ANYONE from the Brave development team read this?

Hello all, very sorry for the inconvenience here, I believe you are encountering this bug: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/6504 which we are actively working on. Hopefully we’ll have a new version of this you can try out soon.
