"Sorry there was a problem processing your request, please try again"

Briefly describe your issue:
Rewards has been working and depositing to my Gemini account for years. Now suddenly today I turned on my PC and it’s automatically logged itself out of my Gemini account. Says “Logged out” and when reconnecting I repeatedly get error “Sorry there was a problem processing your request, please try again”

PSA: Known issue with Gemini (Gemini is down)

I have seen those and they have been up for weeks with no answers. I wouldn’t expect the same problem to be existing for weeks and months on end with no resolution from Brave and Gemini except “Oh well”. Additionally, the existing posts only reference new accounts and new devices attempts; not existing ones. I am neither a new account nor is this a new device. Since I was already logged in, I shouldn’t have been suddenly logged out and then experiencing this same error indefinitely. Due to that this has taken so long it sounds more like Rewards is just dead.

Sure you should. It’s happened for all of the existence of Rewards. They log people out ever so often for security purposes. Logging you out only prevents you from sending tips and of seeing your balance in Gemini. You still earn BAT and receive payments, which are done on the back end. (assuming it’s a browser you’ve already had connected).

I have the same problem. Do you know when the next fix will be? I have been getting it since the summer, so it has been 4-6 months. Thanks in advance.

Still awaiting fix from Gemini’s side, and will continue to ask for development updates. That said, let me note:

  1. This is most common with users who have old Gemini accounts. Newer Gemini accounts aren’t affected by this issue.

  2. Even though you can’t log in again, you will still continue to receive payouts to your Gemini account. Even when you see “Logged out” in your Brave Rewards interface, your Rewards profile is still linked to your Gemini account in our systems. Being “Logged out” just means you won’t be able to see your Gemini BAT balance from within the Rewards interface, and you won’t be able to send contributions to creators from your Gemini account via the Rewards interface.
