Slow page loading on Mac OS 10.15.7

Description of the issue:
Pages seem to be very slow to load under Brave (10 to 30 seconds). Load fine under chrome on the same PC.

How can this issue be reproduced?:

  1. open brave.
  2. Enter web address. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace for example.
  3. Hit enter

Page should load within a second as it does in chrome on the same PC at the same time.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.63.165 Chromium: 122.0.6261.94 (Official Build) (x86_64)

I have removed all extensions with no effect. There is no significant CPU or RAM loading.

It does seem as though this is somewhat intermittent. Some times pages seem to load fine. Other times there is this delay. Turning off shield seems to solve the issue, but defeats the point of using Brave…

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Bump. Thought it was just me. I have no extensions. My digital hair is all mine. I refuse to decrease security. Noticeably slower loading of every website, but I haven’t fretted per se. The spinning circle thing appears on the tab icon. Also, I’m using Big Sur 11.7.1, so there’s that.

Anyone have any Suggestions to troubleshoot this?

It looks like it’s no small issue. Rust isn’t handling the Adblock RegEx properly. Does anyone know the status of setting up the RegEx cache storage this bug outlines?

I’ve been rolling along despite the leak, but it’s starting to affect my usage on a 2014 MBP w/ 8 gig of ram - so I’m betting this issue is really going to begin to impact Brave usage.

Edit: This is likely a dumb workaround, but I might see if there’s a way to disable Brave adblock and use like uBlock origin instead if it 's “light on memory” as advertised?
