Scrolling has become extremely slow or freezes

Description of the issue:

Since last week, it takes forever to scroll on webpages. It’s just like it tries to load too many things but can’t. And I hear my laptop fan working like crazy (too much CPU used). The same happens when I try to scroll with my fingers on my touchpad OR the cursor and the scrolling bar to the right of webpages.

It doesn’t scroll or freezes, then it goes 2 or 3 screens down.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open the browser
  2. open a webpage and scroll down with the touchpad or the cursor

Reproduces how often: every time since last week

Same problem it freezes or always load only some part of website and I have to refresh to see the other half.

I like Brave, but I have had to switch back to Firefox for this reason. This is also a problem on my iPad.
