"Scan Sync Code" does not appear

Description of the issue:
I am trying to add a laptop to an existing Sync chain. On the laptop, there is no link called “Scan Sync Code” or “I have a Sync Code” so I cannot add the laptop.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open Settings/Scan on my desktop
  2. Display the Scan string and copy to clipboard
  3. Email this string to myself on the laptop
  4. Open the email on the laptop and copy the sync string to the clipboard
  5. Open Settings/Sync on the laptop so I can paste it in
  6. Cannot find “Scan Sync Code” or “I have a Sync Code” so I cannot add the laptop.

Type of devices currently running on the Sync chain in question:
Lenovo desktop
Additional Information:

This means you likely created two separate sync chains. You need to leave one on whichever device you want. Then you’ll see the option. But you can’t merge two different sync chains together.
