Royal Bank of Canada website - fails to fetch and display transactions

Description of the issue:
Brave fails to fetch and render transactions

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Go to
  2. Login
  3. View any account that has known transaction history (e.g. chequing, credit card)

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

  • Accounts such as chequing or savings will have a screen state indicating transactions are being loaded and state will remain indefinitely
  • Accounts such as credit cards only show pending posted transactions but all completed transactions fail to render

Expected result:
User should see transaction history for selected account

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10 Pro x64
Version 1.15.72 Chromium: 86.0.4240.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

  • At first, I thought it was an RBC issue, but I tested this against Firefox and it works as designed
  • Tested in private mode and adjusted tracking protection from aggressive to standard to no avail

Apologies, I just happened to find a post describing a similar issue. Disabling Brave Shield for RBC resolved the issue for me.

Which shield setting is causing it? @infra

Go to the RBC site and click the Brave Shields icon (next to the address bar). Click the slider to turn Shields off.
