Greetings Brave Team and Community Members,
I would like to suggest that when Brave Search is used on a specific subject that whenever possible,
the encyclopedic results are shifted away from Wikipedia.
Why? –
Wikipedia is increasingly unreliable, heavily editorialized, and highly discriminatory in its descriptions
on any topic or subject that is politically charged. It’s editors have suspended or removed almost all
editors who try to insert information that challenges prevailing narratives. Wikipedia hides behind
section 230 protections, yet is being used as a default resource on search results with the implication
being that information in Wikipedia is reliably factual.
It is important that search results be as unbiased and fair as possible, and Wikipedia fails consistently
at providing this due the the ideological bias of the vast majority of it’s editors and it’s discrediting
of publications that are outside the prevailing narrative as ‘unreliable’.
I would like to thank Brave developers and the Brave Community in advance for the consideration of this
suggestion.
