PSA: Temporary Gemini API issue

This issue should now be resolved. If you were getting the “processing request” or “try again later” message while trying to link to Gemini, I’d advise you try it again. Also for those who were saying 0.0 BAT on their NTP Rewards widget, please double check that. It should all be working again.


Just was given a heads up by the Rewards team and wanted to pass along notice here. I’ll quote their message:

There’s a surge in issues from users connected to Gemini. They might see 0.0 BAT as their balance on the NTP Rewards widget, and they’ll get a generic “processing request” error when trying to connect/link to Gemini.

We’re aware of this issue. It seems to be a problem with Gemini’s API, and we’ve reached out to the Gemini Team.

They are hoping to have it resolved ASAP. If you’re experiencing these issues, do try to be patient and be aware it should be resolved soon.

Gemini has said they hope to have a fix today. Rewards team (and Users) obviously just stuck waiting to see if it resolves the issue. Will update more as I hear back from everyone.
