Please add Brave to Accrescent (Android)

Due to nice privacy features and the Chromium base, Brave is currently the best browser on Android.

But especially on degoogled Devices, users have no good way to get the app.

There is Obtainium to get the Github releases. But Brave is pretty huge and updates fail often in between, especially when I used Brave Beta (to test for new bugs).

Please add Brave to the Accrescent app store. The store is security focused and has very advanced features like

  • minimum version pinning
  • signed metadata (which roughly requals to signed code)
  • advanced signature verification

Accrescent already works really well and more and more devs add their apps to it. Especially critical apps like browsers need a secure distribution way.

For Linux you have repos, but for Android there is nothing.

Alternatively please create an own F-Droid repo. Ironfox has one, while also being on Accrescent.

It really is just a fileserver with some metadata, could even be hosted on Github and be updated automatically.

This would improve UX drastically

I agree any option for Android users besides the Google Play store that’s the whole point of us going for a privacy browser in the first place? I love the browser and I appreciate all the work they put into it that being said it’s odd that it’s not on the website many apps that are in the Play store still offer the APK on their homepage nordvpn proton basically any privacy security based app there is???
